The world of insects is full of color. In Beijing, a glipmse of the colorful insect world was captured near rivers.

In August, dragonflies and damselflies thrive along the Baihe River in Yanqing District of Beijing. 

The agile insect lives near clean water. 

During mating, the male damselfly grasps the female's head while the female bends her abdomen to pick up the sperm at the front of the male's abdomen, forming a "heart" or a "wheel" shape.
