China Science and Technology Museum's full-dome cinema set to reopen

With the improvement of the COVID-19 epidemic situation in China, the full-dome cinema of the China Science and Technology Museum will be reopened to the public on Saturday (Aug 22) after a seven-month closure.

China Science and Technology Museum full-dome cinema has the world's most advanced real 8K laser digital projection system and IMAX film projection equipment, and is currently the largest real 8K full-dome cinema.

The cinema can not only show IMAX films and 8K digital films but also display celestial bodies and stars, showing solar and lunar eclipses, phase changes and other astronomical phenomena.

In addition, in line with the 10th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), it will participate under the theme of  "Film and Science" under the "Science and Technology" section. The cinema will showcase film panorama online and broadcast online activities through the official China Science and Technology Museum website and various multimedia platforms.

From August 23 to September 13, viewers can enjoy free popular science videos from home and abroad by logging on to the official website of the China Science and Technology Museum.

Previously, the China Science and Technology Museum, a comprehensive museum of science and technology at the national level in China, had been reopened on July 23.
