Wander into the eastern region of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, you will not only find your high-altitude sickness alleviated, but also get the chance to admire the beauty of numerous lakes there, with Basom Tso Lake usually considered the best. /CGTN

Situated in a popular tourist city named Nyingchi, Basom Tso Lake is well renowned for its mesmerizing landscape, with the limpid yet blue lake surrounded by verdant and rolling mountains all year round. Meanwhile, plenty of animal species are seen attracted to the lake area due to its pleasant environment. /CGTN

One could encounter small piles of stones almost everywhere in Tibet as a way to show the piety of local Tibetans to the Buddhist deities. So is it the case with the forest alongside the holy lake. /CGTN

Apart from Basom Tso Lake, listed by the World Tourist Organization as an international tourist spot in 1997, the city of Nyingchi boasts a large number of tourist attractions that have contributed to the rapid growth of the local tourism economy, while with strictly ecological restoration and protection in place over the years. /CGTN
