A female damselfly was captured on camera laying eggs after mating under the male's watch on Friday near a river in Beijing.

The female usually bends its body to lay eggs on the water grass on or under water.

It can dive in water for as long as an hour by carrying air bubbles along its body, according to Zhang Haomiao, a dragonfly expert in China.
