Hukou Waterfall has been flooded in northern China's Shanxi Province. The tourist areas and arched pedestrian bridges are all submerged in water and safety fences have been destroyed. The popular tourist spot sits at the intersection of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. The Shanxi side has been closed off, though the part in Shaanxi remains open. The flood is the result of heavy rainfall and discharge from a reservoir upstream. Water is currently flowing at a rate of 4,000 cubic meters per second, which is four times the annual average.
