In South Korea, President Moon Jae-in has called for a strong response to an ongoing strike by medical doctors nationwide. Moon's order came after members of the Korea Medical Association started a three-day strike on Wednesday in protest against several government proposals, including one to boost the number of doctors to deal with health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. South Korea is fighting one of its worst outbreaks of the coronavirus, with 320 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. The surge in cases has also forced schools in Seoul and its surrounding areas to move their classes online.
