South Korea reports 320 new COVID-19 cases
South Korea reported 320 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths on Tuesday, 307 of which were locally transmitted, and 13 from overseas, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 18,265 and death toll to 312, according to the country's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Among the new local cases, 110 cases were reported in Seoul, 92 cases in Gyeonggi province and 27 cases in Incheon.
The number of patients over the age of 60 is high in Seoul, accounting for more than 30 percent of the total number of cases and resulting in a shortage of hospital beds. The government has set up a committee to monitor and coordinate admissions at hospitals to try to manage the allocation of hospital beds.
