China's new marine research vessel touches water for first time

China's marine research training vessel Zhong Shan Da Xue, named after its developer Sun Yat-sen University, was towed onto water surface for the first time for debugging on Friday morning in east China's Shanghai Municipality. The 6,000-ton vessel will be used for scientific exploration and training practice for crew members, and will be capable of various research missions from seabed to upper air.
