Hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters, chanting "No justice, no peace," gathered near the White House on the evening of August 27 (local time) before Donald Trump's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.
This came after a police officer shot Jacob Blake, a black man, in the back seven times, as he attempted to get into a car with his children inside.
Police moved in to separate the protesters and a handful of supporters of Trump.
The outbursts were short-lived as the demonstration remained largely peaceful.
