Protests continue in Kenosha following police shooting of Black man

Protests continued on Thursday following the police shooting of a Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Protesters gathered in front of a local government building for a demonstration rally and local police set up cordons as barriers. On Sunday, 29-year-old African American Jacob Blake walked to a gray van followed by two police officers with weapons drawn. As Blake opened the door and leaned in, an officer grabbed Blake's shirt to hold him still and shot him at least seven times in the back at close range, in front of three of his young children seating in the car.

Two people were killed, and a third was injured in a shooting late Tuesday during the demonstrations. Police on Wednesday arrested a juvenile in connection with the two deaths. As protests against racial injustice are still raging on in some U.S. cities, Trump has made "law and order" a major theme of his reelection campaign and has repeatedly lashed out at cities run by Democrats.
