Chinese mainland reports 9 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland registered nine new COVID-19 cases on Friday, all from overseas, Chinese health authorities said on Saturday. This is the 13th consecutive day that the mainland has reported no domestic transmissions.

No deaths linked to the coronavirus disease were recorded on Thursday, while 35 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 85,022 and the cumulative death toll at 4,634, with 351 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 4,768 (4,249 recoveries, 84 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 487 (462 recoveries, 7 deaths)
