Hippopotamus: The aquatic herbivore
02:05

Hippopotamuses, or commonly known as hippos, are large, mostly herbivorous, semi-aquatic mammals native to sub-Saharan Africa. Hippo is the third-largest type of land mammal that inhabits rivers and lakes. During the day, they remain cool by staying in the water or mud. Reproduction and childbirth both occur in water. They emerge at dusk to graze on grasses.
