Live: Into no man's land in Tibet to see the world's third largest glacier

Updated 2020.08.30 12:37 GMT+8

Puruogangri was discovered by Chinese and American scientists in 1999. It has been confirmed to be the world's third largest ice sheet after the two in the Arctic and Antarctic. The glacier covers over 400 square kilometers at an average elevation above 6,000 meters. Although it is in a harsh mountain environment that is not accessible to tourists, it has high value for scientific studies and appreciation of geological and glacier phenomena in the world. Follow CGTN's Into Tibet 2020 to explore the no man's land of Tibet, and take look at the world's third largest glacier.
