82,000 people tested under Hong Kong's mass COVID-19 screening drive

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)'s mass screening program collected specimens from 82,000 participants, local authority said at a press briefing.

Over 651,000 people registered for the mass testing as of 5 p.m. on day one of HKSAR's Universal Community Testing Program (UCTP).

Among the 141 community testing centers, 97 – nearly 70 percent – were fully booked on the first day of the UCTP.

Chief Executive Carrie Lam and some other principal officials of the HKSAR government took their tests on the opening day.
