Nearly 126,000 people tested on Hong Kong's day-one mass testing

Nearly 126,000 residents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) received coronavirus tests on the first day of a mass testing program on Tuesday.

The HKSAR government said things went smoothly at 141 testing centers across the city, and as of 8 p.m., over 674,000 have successfully signed up for it.

The government also said it will ramp up testing capacity in several centers on Thursday given they're now fully booked.

Around 2,000 medical workers and 2,400 supporting government staff worked at testing sites across Hong Kong on Tuesday.
