Hong Kong calls off National Day fireworks amid COVID-19 epidemic 

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has called off a National Day fireworks display on October 1 amid the COVID-19 epidemic, according to the HKSAR government on Wednesday.

Hong Kong has reported a total of 4,830 cases of COVID-19 in the region as of Wednesday; the region's Center for Health Protection (CHP) has urged residents to avoid going out, having social contact and dining out.
