Located in Bole City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Sayram Lake is on the northern Silk Road. At an altitude of 2,073 meters above sea level and covering 458 square kilometers, it is the highest and largest alpine lake in Xinjiang.

Surrounded by Tianshan Mountain, Sayram Lake is like a shining sapphire inlaid in the basin.
