CSL highlights on Sep. 4: Evergrande come back to win 'Guangzhou Derby'

Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Guangzhou R&F 2-1 in the second "Guangzhou Derby" this season on Friday night. Before this game, Evergrande led Group A while R&F trailed by 12 points at seventh position.

However, R&F scored first. In the 62nd minute, Huang Zhengyu stole the ball in Evergrande's half and then received the ball from teammate before he broke Liu Dianzuo's net with an incredible volley. R&F led 1-0. 

Anderson Talisca tied the game for Evergande 1-1 in the 75th minute. This time, R&F's goalkeeper Han Jiaqi failed to clear the ball away but kicked to Evergrande's Yang Liyu. Yang passed it to Ai Kesen who drew attention around the goal area before returning ti to Talisca who made it 1-1 for Evergrande.

Two minutes later, Fei Nanduo scored a header for Evergrande but the referee called it offside after checking the video assistant referee (VAR). Then in the 85th minute, VAR cancelled another goal of Fei. 

Nonetheless, R&F failed to escape loss in the last minute. Evergrande's Xu Xin broke defense from the right wing and centered the ball . Han Jiaqi tried to cut his pass but failed to grasp the ball. Paulinho trailed and scored the game-winning goal for Evergrande to make it 2-1. Evergrande beat R&F in both Guangzhou Deries this season.

In the other game on Friday night, Shenzhen F.C. finished 90 minutes of competition with a 0-0 draw. Shenzhen got the upper hand and created more opportunities in the game but they failed to any of them into a goal. Ole Selnaes and John Mary both hit the bar for Shenzhen. Mary was ejected by the referee with a red card at the end of the game for verbal abuse against Shanghai's bench.

After this game, Shanghai continued to rank fourth in Group A with 12 points while Shenzhen trailing behind by one point.
