Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza held a videoconference on Friday on issues of coronavirus and Venezuela's domestic situation.

Wang said Venezuela is fighting both the coronavirus and hegemony and that China stands with Venezuelan people and international justice.

The Chinese side supports Venezuelan people fighting for defending its national sovereignty, dignity, and development rights, he said.

China highly values its ties with Venezuela and believes that Venezuela is capable of solving its domestic situation through dialogue. China is willing to play a constructive role in the process, he added.

Arreaza thanked China for sending medics and medical supplies to help his country fight COVID-19.

He said Venezuela firmly supports the one-China principle and believes that China's economic and social reform will succeed.
