The Indianapolis Colts have NFL's top two offensive line and their center Ryan Kelly played an important role in it. Now the team get to keep him for at least another five seasons as Kelly and the Colts signed a four-year, 50-million-U.S.-dollar contract extension with 34 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"Feels good to be rewarded. I want to live up to the contract I signed. Go out every single day, be the leader on the offensive line they I know I can be. Play with the consistency I can play with and stay healthy. Those are the things that drive me every single day," said Kelly, who became the highest-paid center in league history thanks to the new deal.

The Colts selected Kelly with the 18th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2016. He had a clear job: to protect the team's then-starting quarterback Andrew Luck. Kelly finished his task well and grew with his teammates to make one of the league's best offensive lines for the Colts. He started all 51 games in his career and was voted into the Pro-Bowl in 2019.

Kelly admitted that the contract extension negotiations did not go all smooth, but the two sides managed to reach agreement before their first game of the new season, which is against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"One thing I've learned in this business is even when you're the highest paid you're going to be the highest paid for a week, a year, somebody is going to jump you eventually. ... It's not something you want to be dealing with on the middle of the season. I'm glad it got done," said Kelly.

The Colts were the only team last season to have all five of their offensive linemen start all 16 games – the team had a way to keep these guys healthy. This offensive line will stand before newly-arrived QB Philip Rivers, giving other teams more reasons to watch out for the Colts.
