Sluggish economy triggers urban exodus of millions in Thailand

In Thailand, the economic fallout from COVID-19 has triggered a reverse migration with millions of people leaving urban areas after losing their job. The unemployment rate in the capital Bangkok was estimated at 9.6 percent in May, forcing many migrant workers to return to their hometowns.
