Hong Kong's mass COVID-19 testing detects 10 positive cases
The mass COVID-19 screening in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has detected 10 positive cases so far: six new cases and four previously confirmed cases, Patrick Nip, secretary for the civil service of the HKSAR, said in a radio program on Sunday.
About 1,085,000 people have registered for the universal coronavirus testing plan as of Sunday morning, Nip said, and 860,000 participants have had their test samples taken.
Among 141 testing centers across the region, 44 have already been fully booked, he said.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam on Saturday thanked residents' support for the Universal Community Testing Program (UCTP) in a Facebook post, and pointed out that over 90 percent of those who registered visited testing centers for their appointments.
