Live: Ailik Lake in Xinjiang – A pearl in the Gobi Desert

Ailik Lake, located 16 kilometers southeast of Karamay Devil City in Xinjiang, is formed by the water of Baiyang River. "Ailik" means yogurt in Mongolian. It is the only lake in Karamay, which has existed for at least 1,300 years. The lake district has very beautiful scenery with water waves, reeds, fish, yellow sheep, trees and farmlands. Together, they constitute a natural lake landscape in the desert, that is also known as a "pearl in the Gobi Desert."
