Bosten Lake, China's biggest inland freshwater lake, is located in Bohu County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It occupies an area of 1,646 square kilometers, making it a big fishery and reed base of Xinjiang. It's home to 24 kinds of fish such as cyprinoid, herring, carp, grass carp and silver carp. Tourists visit the lake for sightseeing, aquatic sports in summer and ice sports in winter. About 80 kinds of birds live here, attracting twitchers from across the country.
