Live: Views of the 'black oil' city in northwest China

Karamay City is located in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at the edge of the Junggar Basin. Karamay means "black oil," and it is well-known for its oil fields near the city. It even has a stainless steel sculpture shaped like an oil bubble. After the first oil in the mountain was discovered, the city entered a great era of development and construction.
