Treasure Hunt Relay: Global Museum Director's Choice, initiated by the National Museum of China, debuts in an effort to spread the idea of building a museum community around the world. Directors from 16 museums across five continents are expected to introduce the history of their institutions and collections of iconic cultural treasures in a relay format.
Today, we focus on the National Museum in Warsaw. Originally founded in 1862 as the Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum in Warsaw is currently one of the oldest art museums in the country, boasting a collection of around 815,000 artworks from Poland and abroad and 35,000 items in deposit from the ancient to modern times including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, coins, as well as utilitarian objects and design.
