China's hairpin roads help mountain villagers shake off poverty

Next to the Jinsha River in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province is a 12-kilometer winding road with a vertical height of 800 meters and 28 consecutive bends that make it the most beautiful "sky road."  

Once, the villagers drove horses as transport and only went down the mountain every two or three months. Nowadays, this winding road has changed their lives and connect about 3,000 villagers with the outside world.
