China's largest alpine strawberry plantation lifts thousands of villagers out of poverty

The Jiuru Ecological Strawberry Plantation, located in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province, is the largest alpine summer strawberry planting base in China. It is at an altitude of 2,560 meters, and the annual average temperature is 11 degrees Celsius, which is very suitable for the cultivation of strawberries. August through November is the harvest time for strawberries. During the 2019 harvest season, the plantation had employed workers 22,050 times, with an average of 147 employees per day.
