Russia's COVID-19 death toll exceeds 18,000
Russia said on Wednesday that 142 people had died from the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 18,135.
The country reported 5,218 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 1,041,007, the fourth largest caseload globally.
