More than 37,000 COVID-19 cases among students and staff at colleges and universities were reported in all 50 states in U.S., according to CNN's tally.
The New York Department of Health will require colleges to notify the state when they have 100 confirmed cases and could be required to transition to remote learning, the governor Andrew Cuomo said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that he will introduce the new Republican scaled-back stimulus plan on Tuesday, which will cost an estimated 500 billion U.S. dollars. The Senate will vote on the bill Thursday.
A total of 6,287,362 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported across the country so far, and the death toll rose to 188,688, according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
