The 14th Asian Film Awards announced the finalists for its 16 awards on Wednesday.

Oscar best picture winner "Parasite," produced by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, led the lineup with 10 nominations, followed by Chinese drama films "So Long, My Son" and "Sunshine" each receiving seven nominations.

Wang Jingchun and Yong Mei, who won the Silver Bear for Best Actor and Actress at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival with director Wang Xiaoshuai's "So Long, My Son," will also contend for the main acting awards this time.

The 28-year-old Zhou Dongyu will challenge Yong Mei with her role in romantic crime film "Better Days" directed by Derek Tsang Kwok-cheung. And the film's leading actor Jackson Yee will vie for Best Newcomer.

There will be no awards ceremony held for this year's Asian Film Awards due to the coronavirus pandemic. The list of winners will be announced on October 14.
