Beijing said Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming virtual meeting with leaders from Germany and the European Union on September 14 is a sign of the two sides' commitment to reviving a global economy battered by COVID-19. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian made the remarks Thursday at a news conference. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the EU.
