Beijing Guoan beat Tianjin TEDA 2-0 in a Chinese Super League (CSL) game on Thursday night, giving TEDA their eighth straight loss and booking them a spot in the relegation group where TEDA will have to fight to stay in the top league.
Zhang Yuning and Renato Augusto scored two goals for Guoan but they were both assisted by TEDA's defenders. First in the 30th minute, TEDA's Qian Yumiao hit his teammate Qiu Tianyi when he tried to clear the ball. Zhang took the opportunity and broke TEDA's goal with a brilliant volley. Then in the 48th minute, Qian headed Li Lei's crossing to the center of the box where Augusto got the ball and scored the second goal for Guoan.
Having played nine games this season, TEDA remained winless and they are the only team to do so.
In the other game on Thursday night, Shanghai SIPG defeated Qingdao Huanghai 2-1 after Marko Arnautovic and Hulk scored two goals for the defending champions. Romain Alessandrini made it 2-1 for Qingdao in the 92nd minute with an incredible barb.
