Sixty-nine scenic spots and museums in Shanghai will offer half-priced tickets starting September 12, as part of 2020 Shanghai Tourism Festival's activities, according to the east China metropolis' culture and tourism authorities on Wednesday.

Among them are Disneyland Park, Shanghai Wild Animal Park and Shanghai Zoo. 

The notice became a Weibo trending topic immediately after it was published.  

But some netizens soon expressed their concerns that the discount might lead to crowds and longer visitor waiting lines. 

Such a policy will last for a week, to September 18, partly overlapping the Shanghai Tourism Festival scheduled from September 12 to 27. This year's festival will have some sub-venues for the first time to integrate tourism facilities and resources as well as selected activities.
