Female dragonflies are busy laying eggs in late summer in Beijing.

Dragonfly enthusiast Wen Yuchuan took a group of photos in Duijiuyu, a valley in the city's northern part.

The aquatic insect's life is divided into three stages: eggs, nymphs, and adults.

Females breed in summer, laying eggs usually on grasses near water.
