Wang met them on Thursday on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States in Russia.

He noted that next year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan and urged the two sides to push bilateral relations to a new level.

Qureshi said Pakistan will continue to stand firmly with China and oppose any stigma and unreasonable accusations against China.

In the meeting with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Wang said the two countries should steadily advance the joint construction of the Belt and Road project.

Focusing on the post-epidemic era, the two nations should make early arrangements for cooperation in key areas, Wang said.

He added that it is necessary to give full play to the role of the joint prevention and control mechanism in the border area between China and Tajikistan to enhance the capacity of border ports amid the pandemic.

Muhriddin thanked China for its help in curbing the virus and stressed that Tajikistan firmly supports the one-China principle and opposes any forces that smear China under the guise of human rights.
