Three people were injured in an explosion in a building in Zhuhai City, south China's Guangdong Province, which happened at around 9:00 a.m. Friday, according to local authorities.

A total of 9 people have been rescued, while three injured people have been sent to a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is being investigated.

The rescue works are basically finished, said the local authorities in a statement on Friday afternoon.
