A total of 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been detected through a mass virus testing program in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), a senior official said on Saturday.

The program has been extended and will now officially end next Monday (September 14).
Some 1.666 million people have signed up to be tested in Hong Kong and tests on nearly 1.616 million samples have finished as of Saturday night 8 p.m., according to the HKSAR government.
