Elderly group promotes idea of shared home in China
01:37

China is home to the world's largest senior population and that proportion is rapidly increasing. The recent changes in China's social structures has isolated many of the country's elderly. Experts say traditional family-based care is now impractical because most middle-aged children have little time to take care of their parents. It means more and more elderly find themselves with no choice but to live alone, giving rise to issues related to loneliness and seclusion. However, one group of seniors came up a few years ago with an idea to counteract this, and now they're looking for a new generation to carry it on.
