When it comes to Karamay, many people think of its oil fields. The city was built in the desert for the discovery of oil. Residents there are now in the third generation. However, little is known about its history. A "Memory of the Oil City" themed restaurant in Karamay uses more than 100 items from the 1960s to the 1990s to decorate the space and record how Karamay grew from a desert into the oasis it is today. CGTN reporter Serena Dong visited this restaurant and saw firsthand how these old items help keep the city's history alive.
