China and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting issues of each other's core national interests on Sunday as agreed by Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov on Sunday.
Meeting with Wang in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, Jeenbekov said that Kyrgyzstan firmly adheres to the one-China policy and stands with China in all major issues concerning China's core interests and will always be a friend of China.
Wang appreciated Kyrgyzstan's firm support on issues regarding China's core interests and said that China also supports Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding its sovereignty and opposes any external force interfering in Kyrgyzstan's internal affairs.
The Chinese foreign minister added that China will continue to help Kyrgyzstan in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthening cooperation on vaccine research and drugs.
Cooperation is the best way to combat the pandemic, Wang said as he stressed the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Jeenbekov expressed thanks for the Chinese medical experts and materials. He also hopes for stronger cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative as well as in the fields of investment, energy, transportation, agriculture and medical care and so on.
Wang also held talks on Sunday with his Kyrgyz counterpart Chingiz Aidarbekov, saying that his visit to Kyrgyzstan is aimed at deepening anti-COVID-19 cooperation, promoting mutual support as well as post-pandemic cooperation.
Wang said that China will stand with Kyrgyzstan until the pandemic has been completely defeated, noting that China will prioritize Kyrgyzstan's need for vaccine after it is developed and approved.
The Chinese foreign minister also pointed out that as neighboring countries, China and Kyrgyzstan shares common interests that include security interests. Thus, both sides should understand, trust each other and together safeguard both countries' legitimate rights.

Aidarbekov said that Kyrgyzstan maintains a friendly foreign policy approach towards China and will always support China's principled position on its domestic issues and resolutely oppose any external forces interfering in China's internal affairs.
They have also discussed a speedy recovery of overall cooperation between the two countries, resuming key cooperative investment projects.
Wang promised that China would increase imports of Kyrgyz agricultural products and invited Kyrgyzstan to attend this year's China International Import Expo.
After the talks, the two officials signed a number of cooperation agreements.
