Italy's ex-PM Berlusconi leaves hospital after recovering from COVID-19

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi left the hospital after recovering from COVID-19 on Monday. He told the public that he had survived "the most dangerous challenge" of his life and expressed gratitude to medical workers.

Berlusconi, now 83, was earlier admitted to the hospital for 12 days after testing positive for COVID-19.

Local media reported that he is believed to have contracted the virus in Sardinia, where he has a sprawling vacation villa.
