Chinese mainland reports 8 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland registered eight new COVID-19 cases on Monday, all from overseas, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.

This is the 30th consecutive day without domestic transmissions on the Chinese mainland. No deaths from the disease were reported on Monday while 11 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 85,202 and the death toll at 4,634, while 361 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 4,971 (4,635 recoveries, 101 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 499 (476 recoveries, 7 deaths)
