Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has been elected as the new leader of the LDP, paving his way to succeed Shinzo Abe as the next prime minister. Suga has promised to continue Abe's policies. Some view him as inexperienced in foreign policy. Professor Sayuri Shirai says Suga will continue build good relationships with neighboring countries.
