Russia reported 5,529 new cases on Tuesday, pushing its national tally to 1,073,849, the fourth largest in the world. Authorities said 150 people had died in the last 24 hours, bringing the official death toll to 18,785.
Indonesia reported on Tuesday 3,507 new coronavirus infections, taking the country's total tally to 225,030. The number of deaths rose by 124 to 8,965, the highest number of fatalities in Southeast Asia.
The Philippines on Tuesday confirmed 3,544 additional infections and 34 more deaths, bringing total infections to 269,407, the highest in Southeast Asia, while confirmed deaths have reached 4,663.
Australia on Tuesday recorded its first day without a death in two months, as states began to lift restrictions amid growing confidence that a second wave of infections has been contained. While officials said there were 50 new cases in the past 24 hours, raising total number of confirmed cases over 26,700 with 816 deaths.
Germany's total number of confirmed cases rose by 1,407 to 261,762 over the past 24 hours. Twelve more deaths were also reported on Tuesday, the highest daily number since August 14, with the total death toll standing at 9,362.
