Turpan is known for its sweet grapes, and the most iconic place of its origin is the Grape Valley.
Grape Valley is located in the northeastern part of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, some 10 kilometers away from Turpan. It is a valley to the west of the Flaming Mountain. The valley runs eight kilometers long, and spans 0.6-2 kilometers wide.
While the west side of the valley faces cliffs, a forest of intertwined grape vines can be found inside the valley. Around the grape gardens are towering poplar trees interspersed with a few flowers.
