CSL highlights on Sep. 16: Chongqing give Qingdao fifth straight loss

Chongqing Lifan walked over Qingdao Huanghai 3-0 in a Chinese Super League (CSL) game on Wednesday night. This was the fifth loss in a row for the newly-promoted Qingdao. Chongqing are only one point away from making the champion group in the next stage.

The two sides exchanged nothing in the first half but Chongqing exploded offensive in the second half. The team's three foreign aids, Fernandinho, Alan Kardec and Adrian Mierzejewski scored three goals in 12 minutes.

First in the 58th minute, Kardec assisted Fernandinho to break Qingdao's net with an excellent volley. Eight minutes later, Fernandinho created a penalty thanks to handball foul by Shi Zhe. Kardec made it to help Chongqing lead 2-0.

Then in the 70th minute, Marcelo Cirino plucked the ball from Qingdao's defender and passed it to Mierzejewski who made it 3-0 for Chongqing.

In the other CSL game on Wednesday night, Tianjin TEDA and Shijiazhuang Ever Bright finished the competition 1-1. Though they failed to pocket the first win this season, Tianjin finally saw their awkward eight-straight-loss record come to an end.
