Chinese mainland reports 12 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland registered 12 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, all from overseas, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday. 

This is the 31st consecutive day without domestic transmissions on the Chinese mainland. No deaths from the disease were reported on Tuesday while 11 patients were discharged from hospitals. 

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 85,214 and the death toll at 4,634, while 361 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation. 

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows: 

Hong Kong: 4,975 (4,646 recoveries, 102 deaths) 

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries) 

Taiwan: 499 (476 recoveries, 7 deaths)
