Virus testing speeds up in China's border city Ruili, no positive test so far
Authorities in Ruili City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, said on Wednesday that they had collected samples from 80,311 people as of 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, of which 13,182 samples had been tested and none of them came out positive.
Ruili City launched free citywide nucleic acid testing Tuesday morning in wake of the detection of two COVID-19 cases on Sunday among illegal immigrants in the city, which lies on the border with Myanmar.
The city has vowed to finish testing for its 210,000 residents in three days.
On Wednesday alone, Ruili government said it aims to collect a total of 120,000 samples.
