Chinese mainland reports 9 new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland registered nine new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, all from overseas, the National Health Commission said on Thursday.

This is the 32nd consecutive day without domestic transmissions on the Chinese mainland. No deaths from the disease were reported while 11 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 85,223 and the death toll 4,634, while 354 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 4,984 (4,663 recoveries, 102 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 500 (477 recoveries, 7 deaths)
